In order to express sincere thanks to the scholarship and academic prize donors, to strengthen and develop relationships with donors and community partnership, the Alumni and Development Office (ADO) of the University of Macau (UM) has organized its first Donor Visit to Bank of China Macau Branch, on 24 February 2012 during the celebration month of the centenary of the Bank of China. ADO, together with the Bank of China scholarship recipients of 2011, board members from the UM Alumni Association, UM Graduate Association, UM Student Union and representative from the UM Student Counseling and Development Section from Student Affairs Office participated in this two-hour visit.

The group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Ieong Chi Kuong, Director of Personal Banking and Ms. Chen Fen, Director of Personal Banking Department. After that the group had the chance to meet and greet with Mr. Ip Sio Kai, Deputy General Manager of the Bank of China Macau Branch. Aside from presenting souvenirs to the senior management by ADO and the UM Alumni Association, the three scholarship recipients also took this valuable opportunity to present a nicely decorated thank you card to show their gratefulness for the generosity of the Bank of China Macau Branch. The visit commenced with a financial management and investment strategies talk, followed by an introduction to the history of Bank of China and Bank of China Macau Branch. After that, the group visited the Retail Banking Centre, Treasury, Personal Banking Department and the multi-functional banquet hall on the 33rd floor of the Bank of China Building. With the detailed introduction by each department representative, the group could benefit a lot from getting a deeper understanding of the corporate culture and the daily operation of the Bank of China Macau Branch.
