Donor Visit – Mocha Clubs

In order to express sincere thanks to the scholarship and academic prize donors, to strengthen and develop relationships with donors and community partnership, the Alumni and Development Office (ADO) of the University of Macau (UM) has organized a Donor Visit to Mocha Clubs in the Macau Tower on 28 May 2012. ADO, together with the “Mocha Clubs Scholarship” and “Hsu Chin Sheng and Cai Yu Shia Scholarship” recipients of academic year 2010/2011, members from the UM Alumni Association, UM Graduate Association, UM China Mainland Student Association and UM Student Union participated in this two-hour visit.

The group was warmly welcomed by Ms. Constance Hsu, President of Mocha Clubs and her team. The visit officially commenced after Ms. Hsu’s welcome speech, followed by an overview of Macau’s economic development and career prospects after the liberalization of the gaming industry, an introduction of corporate culture, operating strategy and the experience sharing of social responsibility and community relations of Mocha Clubs. As an appreciation to Mocha Clubs’ hospitality, Mr.Vong Peng Chun, Director of ADO and representative from the UM Alumni Association presented a souvenir to Ms. Hsu respectively. In addition, five scholarship recipients also took this valuable opportunity to present a thank you card with different hand-written thankful messages to show their gratefulness for the generosity of Mocha Clubs and Ms. Hsu.

Afterwards, the group had a wonderful site visit tour arranged by the representative from Mocha Clubs and gained a better overview of the daily operation and management philosophy of electronic gaming. The visit not only can foster communications between Macau’s enterprises and alumni/students associations but also broaden the horizons of alumni and students and cultivate the caring culture towards their alma mater. A nicely prepared lunch was served after the site tour which gave the group’s opportunity to mingle and chat with staff there. The visit came to an end in a joyful atmosphere.
