Graduates giving back to their Alma Mater at Congregation 2012
The Congregation 2012, which was attended by thousands of graduates, was successfully held at the Macau Forum on 18 June 2012. Dr. Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of Macao SAR and Chancellor of UM, together with parents, UM staff and official guests attended the congregation to witness the special moment and offer their best wishes to graduates who are going to enter the society and mark an important milestone of their lives.
UM Alumni and Development Office organized a booth during that date with the aim to introduce its mission and services to our alumni-to-be. In addition, a fund-raising counter with UM souvenirs was set up which attracted numerous graduates and parents to stop by and show their support. The fund-raising counter serves the purpose to cultivate the giving back culture among the graduates so that they can continue to support the development of their Alma Mater after graduation.
ADO received great supports from a total of 118 alumni-to-be and their parents and have raised approximately MOP6,800 during the Congregation 2012. All donations will be used to support UM’s long-term development via the University of Macau Development Foundation.
