Visit to Bank of China Macau Branch

In order to express sincere thanks to the scholarship and academic prize donors, to strengthen and develop relationships with donors and community partnership, the Alumni and Development Office (ADO) of the University of Macau (UM) has organized Donor Visit to Bank of China Macau Branch, on 26 February 2014. ADO, together with the recipients of Bank of China Scholarship and Academic Prize 2012 and 2013, students and teachers from East Asia College participated in this two-hour visit.

The group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Chi Kuong Ieong and Ms. Fen Chen, Directors of Bank of China Macau Branch. Afterwards, souvenirs were presented between the representatives of Bank of China Macau Branch and College Master of East Asia College, Prof. Iu Vai Pan. The three scholarship and academic prize recipients also took this valuable opportunity to present a nicely decorated thank you card to show their gratefulness for the generosity of the Bank of China Macau Branch.

The visit commenced with a financial management and investment strategies talk, followed by a sharing session by a UM alumna working at Bank of China. Students grasped the opportunity to raise questions about career choice and self-enhancement. Staff and alumna from Bank of China were enthusiastic to answer questions. Afterwards, the group was introduced to the history of Bank of China and Bank of China Macau Branch and visited the Retail Banking Centre and the multi-functional banquet hall located on the 33rd floor of the Bank of China Building. With the detailed introduction by each department representative, the group could benefit a lot from getting a deeper understanding of the corporate culture and the daily operation of the Bank of China Macau Branch. Furthermore, the visit not only could foster communication between the donor and students, but also broaden their horizons and cultivate a culture of caring towards their Alma Mater.
