Dear Colleagues,
In order to safeguard the health of yourself, your family and the public, staff members have the responsibility to follow the epidemic prevention measures by receiving COVID-19 vaccine and the booster dose. To cope with the measures, the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) has issued the following guidelines (Attachment 1):
1. Starting from 23 November 2022, staff members receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and those accompanying their family members to receive COVID-19 vaccine, may apply for a 1-day of justifiable absence on the day of vaccination or on the following day with the conditions below:
- Staff members receiving the 4th dose of COVID-19 vaccine;
- Staff members accompanying their parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandparents-in-law who are above 65 years old to receive the 4th dose of COVID-19 vaccine;
- Staff members accompanying their children under the age of 18 of non-tertiary education to receive the 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
2. Starting from 1 January 2023, the following measures which deemed justifiable absence will be terminated:
- Staff members receiving the 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine;
- Staff members accompanying ascendants to receive the 1st to 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine;
- Staff members accompanying children to receive the 1st to 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
