Dear Academic and Administration Colleagues

The activity period of The Second University of Macau Energy Saving Competition is from 1st February to 30th June 2017. CMDO-Energy Section informed all participants of the competition in January 2017. The number of prizes of the competition is increased to 7. Five of them will be awarded to top 5 participating units. The prize amount is determined by 5% of saving in electricity costs, the ceiling and floor amount of corresponding prizes. While the other two prizes are “Big Saver” and “Best Implementer of Energy Saving Measures”. Their prize amount is fixed. The aim of “Best Implementer of Energy Saving Measures” is to encourage participating units to discover and implement energy saving measures. Each energy saving measure is counted as 1 score. CMDO-Energy Section will provide technical support and record the measures.

Most participating units’ electricity cost decreased in February of 2017 when compared to those of 2016. The electricity cost of “Research Building N21” (N21), “Faculty of Social Sciences & Faculty of Arts and Humanities” (E21), “Faculty of Business Administration” (E22), “Faculty of Law & Faculty of Education” (E32 & E33) and “Cheong Kun Lun College (CKLC) and Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MMKLPSC)” (W33), has dropped by 28% to 44%.

The charts and figures below demonstrate the performance of each participating units in February.

Remark: As W33 is the new operation building in Aug 2016, average electricity cost for 2016 of other college buildings will be used for comparison.
