Sample of Phishing Email
To: All Users
As informed by Cybersecurity Incident Alert and Response Centre (CARIC), the number of phishing emails containing malicious software, which seem to be sent by people you know (internal staff, clients or vendors), are increasing recently.
Characteristics of the phishing emails:
- An excel file is attached, a malicious software will be executed if you open the attachment.
- A password-protected compressed file (e.g. .zip, .rar) is attached, but the email does not provide a password to open it.
- A password-protected compressed file (e.g. .zip, .rar) is attached with a password in the email, a malicious software will be executed if you extract it.
Please DO NOT CLICK SUSPICIOUS ATTACHMENTS and DO NOT RESPOND to this kind of emails. If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact our Help Desk.
