PGH Soccer Team: 1st Soccer Competition with the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison Soccer Team

After PGH Basketball Team’s visit to the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison in Taipa, PGH Soccer Team recently went to the Taipa Military Camp to have the first soccer match at the invitation of the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison.

At the beginning of the match, PGH Soccer Team members maintained a balance with the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison based on their footwork. But as time went by, the strengths of the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison became evident. They played a wonderful match and gradually took advantage of the match. However, PGH Soccer Team members also struggled to fight, actively defended and repelled many threatening attacks from the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison. In the 90-minute competition, both teams showed no weakness and the match was very intense. Every team member fully demonstrated the Olympic sports spirit. In the end, the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison defeated PGH Soccer Team with the goal of 4:3.

The tacit cooperation of the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison and the perseverance of PGH Soccer Team encouraged students to enhance the enthusiasm and confidence of participating in sports while enjoying the soccer competition and let them feel the power of unity. After the match, Lu Zhao, the captain of PGH Soccer Team, said that holding this match has promoted the exchanges between PGH Soccer Team and the People's Liberation Army Macao Garrison and enhanced the friendship between the players. Vice-Chairman Huang Junwei said PGH Soccer Team members were brave enough to fight and play a very exciting game under adverse circumstances. They also expressed their appreciation to Student Affairs Office (SAO) for paying attention to the physical fitness of students and taking students out of the dormitory and laboratory for group sports activities.
