First Festival of Chinese Culture Series:
“Dancing with a Brush” Chinese Calligraphy Workshop
In response to the First Festival of Chinese Culture held by Centre for Chinese History and Culture (FAH), Moon Chun Memorial College was delighted to invite the UMPA Calligraphy Club to co-organise a Chinese calligraphy workshop and promote traditional Chinese culture on 28th November 2022. This workshop attracted many students who wore Chinese costumes to the event.
The instructor shared the history and respective characteristics of traditional Chinese calligraphy, and then the participants began to practise some basic strokes of writing: regular script, official script, running script, among many others. They also created personalised paper fans by writing their favorite quotations on each one. Finally, everyone took a group photo together to preserve this memorable, and yet traditional cultural experience.
