One-day College Life Experiences for Secondary Students at MCMC: Sheng Kung Hui Choi Kou School Macau
On 25 November 2022, Sheng Kung Hui Choi Kou School Macau arranged a group of 25 Form 5 students to experience a day of college life at MCM College. School principal, Mr. Chi Kwan CHAN led the group and visited the Macao Base for Primary & Secondary STEM Education, followed by the Institute of Chinese Medical Science (ICMS) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (SKL-QRCM) at the University of Macau. The aim was to increase the interests of scientific research among local secondary students.
The group proceeded for a guided tour of MCM College to learn more about community and peer education across UM’s collegiate system. Participants took part in experiential learning workshops such as “Portuguese for Beginners” and “Music and Rhythm”, which were conducted by Dr. Manuel Noronha and Dr. Peggy Lau respectively. Afterwards, three college students were invited to share their college lives with the group. During the sharing session, Choi Kou students expressed their interest in continuing their studies at the University of Macau and looked forward to experiencing residential college life. Finally, MCM College master, Prof. Kwok Cheung CHEUNG, presented certificates of participation to the group, ending a most productive day at MCM College.
