MCM College Halloween Celebration “Requiem”

Halloween at Moon Chun Memorial College has come to an end. Originated in the Celtic culture, Halloween marked the end of summer and the beginning of winter, a time of year when the boundary between the two worlds of the living and the dead became blurred and the spirits of the dead returned to earth. To scare these spirits away, the Celtic people wore masks and costumes to keep the spirits at bay.

This year, MCM College Halloween celebration “Requiem” began on 26 October 2022 with a screening of the film "The Addams Family". The official event was held on 28 October by Resident Assistants and Tutors at the ground floor, providing haunted house experience, pumpkin sack workshop, Halloween makeup booth, and tarot cards fortune telling. Additionally, House Association launched their original live action role playing game “Baron’s Banquet”. Lastly, MCMC Dance Club presented a spectacular "Dice" dance performance.

Under the starry night, a 'Hundred Ghosts Night' was performed – students in all kinds of costumes were strolling in the atrium of the College, taking photos and enjoying the night. We were able to experience the unique Halloween activities in the West, enhancing our understanding and respect of different cultures.
