Moon Chun Memorial College performed for Britcham (British Chamber of Commerce) Macao's 15th Anniversary Celebration at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macao
Since Moon Chun Memorial College’s inception in 2013, its musicians have been invited every year to perform at Gala Dinners, celebratory events and conferences, strengthening the strong town-and-gown relationship MCMC enjoys with the local Macau and GBA communities.

Following on from its recent success performing for the FMCC (France Macau Chamber of Commerce) Charity Gala Dinner 2021 Cocktail Reception, Colégio MCM University of Macau String Trio was invited to perform for Britcham (British Chamber of Commerce) Macao's 15th Anniversary Celebration at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macao.

It was joined by one of the Master’s graduates from HKAPA (Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts), Macao born and bred Guest Musician, Anthony Cheong, Violist, extending the ensemble to a String Quartet. Anthony also directs UM’s String Orchestra with another of HKAPA’s graduates during the Master’s tenure as President HKAPA, John Ma.

Thus Colégio MCM University of Macau String Quartet, ably led by Freshman award-winning violinist, Che Chong Hei Henry, with excellent support from second violinist, Park Haeun and ‘cellist Lam Hong Sam Kelvin, developed its musicianship and gained considerable confidence and valuable experience from rehearsing with Guest Musician, Cheong Wai Leong Anthony, and being invited to perform live at a high-profile event, through playing a series of carefully chosen works for String Quartet especially prepared for the evening.

With their highly professional performances of Mozart, JS Bach, Handel, Purcell, Pachelbel, Rota, Piazzolla and Matos Rodriguez, the Quartet won plaudits from all attendees, including many members of the Chambers of Commerce in Macao.

The Quartet, is directed by Dr Patricia Thompson, MCMC Supernumerary Fellow, with additional expert support from Dr Peggy Lau, MCMC Resident Fellow.

By engaging students in a diversity of events, Colégio MCM seeks to nurture collective talent of student, embodied in the acronym: ARIES - Arts and Culture, Internationality, English Language proficiency and Sporting prowess.
