Please be informed that ICTO will perform core network switch upgrade at Administration Building (N6) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 7 May 2022 (Saturday). The objective of the upgrade is to replace the current core switch which was built in 2012 and reached its end-of-support. During the said period, campus network services (Wired, Wireless, IP Phone, and Internet Access services) will be suspended. The services will be resumed once the upgrade tasks are completed. This upgrade aims at optimizing the network structure, increasing the speed of network port from 100Mbps to 1Gbps, and upgrading the WiFi standard from WiFi4 to WiFi6.
Phase 1 - Wired Network Replacement (Weekends)
Campus network service will be suspended on certain dates and designated area as below in order to replace the network switches in those areas.

Phase 2 – Wireless Access Point (AP) Replacement
Phase 2 is proposed to carry out from 18 May to 10 June. The APs will be replaced one by one, the wireless service at the covered area will be suspended, and a small amount of dust and intermittent noise are expected during the replacement. We will confirm the exact date with your office in advance.
