MCMC FACULTY SEMINAR SERIES:
Group Decision Making

On Wednesday evening, 23rd November 2022, MCM College was delighted to have college affiliate, Prof. Siew Huat Kong (FBA) to meet with students. The workshop drew particular interest among students from the Faculty of Business of Administration as it was related to issues and strategies in group decision making. Prof. Kong created an interactive workshop allowing students to comprehend that a group may have the potential to be more creative and lead to more effective decisions.

When students work in groups, the possibilities of achieving results beyond what they could have done as individuals become greater. In light of this, working in groups may also facilitate the task to become far more enjoyable for all members.

At the close of the workshop, students realised that when decisions are made by a group instead of a single individual, implementation of the decision will be easier, because group members will be more invested in the decision. If the group is diverse, there would be more options available for better decision making as different group members may have different ideas based on their backgrounds and experiences.
