Dear Colleagues,

As per the University Almanac for Academic Year 2020/2021 released on the e.bulletin on 28th May 2020, classroom teaching of the 1st semester of academic year 2020/2021 will commence on 7th September 2020. Further to the revised schedule, regular academic staff who are currently outside Macao should take note of the work arrangement indicated as follows:

  1. Regular academic staff who are currently outside Macao are required to return to Macao on or before 31st July 2020.
  2. Regular academic staff who plan to stay outside Macao on 1st August 2020 onwards should apply for annual leave or advance annual leave for the period between 1st August 2020 and the date of return.
  3. Regular academic staff who are unable to return to Macao by 31st July 2020 because of border control imposed by the Macao S.A.R. Government should write to inform their Faculty Office as soon as possible.
  4. Currently, the Macao SAR Government requires all people entering Macao who have been to countries or regions concerned to undergo 14 days of medical observation at the designated locations as required by the health authorities. For staff members who have already known the aforesaid requirement prior to their departure, they should apply for annual leave or advance annual leave for the 14-day period of quarantine/medical observation (if still applicable by the time they return to Macao).
  5. For regular academic staff who have teaching assignments in the 1st semester of 2020/2021, please be reminded that the first teaching day of the semester is 7th September 2020. It is our plan to resume classroom teaching for all our courses in the upcoming semester.
  6. For courses with students who are unable to return to campus due to the pandemic, the related academic staff should record all their classes and upload to UMMoodle for the consumption of these students. There will be technical guides and assistance provided by CTLE, ICTO and IT staff of individual Faculties.
  7. Regular academic staff who may not be able to return in time to discharge their teaching duties in the 1st semester should write to inform their Faculty Office by 7th August 2020.

Thank you for your attention.
