Dear colleagues and students,

Through the joint prevention and control mechanism with the Mainland, the SAR government received a notification from the Zhuhai Health Department on 3 August that two Macao residents tested positive in Zhuhai on 2 August. The Health Bureau conducted nucleic acid tests for the two residents and their two children, and they all resulted positive. In this regard, the SAR government has immediately adopted further measures, including:

1) Immediately activate the divisional and hierarchical precision prevention and control management mechanism.

2) As of 3:30 pm on 3 August, all persons departing Macao must present a nucleic acid test certificate with negative result which is valid within 24 hours. At the same time, citizens are advised to avoid leaving Macao unless necessary, and not to go to places where people gather.

3) In accordance with an Executive Order, following an evaluation by Macao’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, the Macao Special Administrative Region has entered a state of immediate prevention, with effect from 3:30 pm on 3 August, in relation to risk of a local COVID-19 outbreak. Such risk is evaluated to be extremely high.

If you experience symptoms such as sore throat, cough, fever, etc., please consult a doctor as soon as possible, take personal hygiene measures, and wear masks when going out.
