Traditional Eye-dotting Ceremony
Establishment of UM Dragon Dance Team

On April 13, Vice Rector (Student Affairs), Prof. Billy So and Director of Office of Sports Affairs, Ms. Grace Chau officiated the ceremony of the establishment of UM Dragon Dance Team at the UM Library Plaza (E2). Prof. So and Ms. Chau took part in the traditional eye-dotting ceremony to kick off the ceremonial dragon dance.

The objective of establishing the Dragon Dance Team is to enhance students' understanding of traditional Chinese culture and sense of belongings to motherland. In addition, it provides the opportunity to develop students' strengths and potentials.

UM Dragon Dance Team starts the training since Mar 2019, with regular training twice per week and will perform at UM celebrating events and ceremonies.

Along with the majestic drumming, undergraduate and postgraduate students performed together and the ceremony was completed flawlessly. The 1st performance was being taken place on 14 April at UM Open Day.
