Dear Postgraduate Students,

Further to application results announced on 5 May 2022, please be informed of the attached room allocation results of PGH application for 1st semester of AY2022/2023 (For existing PG applicants only).
Special attention:
Attention to PGH residents who are planning to return to campus, in accordance with the “1st Notice of Teaching Arrangement for the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2022/2023 (Applicable for Returning Postgraduate Students)” announced by the Graduate School on 21 July 2022, in response to the Macao SAR Government's measures to reduce the risk of the viral transmission, returning students are required to notify the Student Resources Section by email at least three working days before returning to campus . Upon approval, students can check-in from August 1 to 26, 2022.

The room allocation list includes the following students:
    1) Applicants on the accepted application list which was announced on 5 May 2022;
    2) Since bedspaces were released from students who failed to settle payments or from students who had cancelled their applications, the released bedspaces have been reallocated to remaining PhD applicants who are within the normal study period in 1st semester of AY2022/2023 and have 0 PGH point*.
    *Only the PGH points gained between 11 April 2021 and 29 March 2022 are counted towards the present application.

According to the announcement dated 6 July 2022, among applicants who are on the waiting list, all PhD applicants with non-negative PGH points and the top 49 Master's applicants who will be within the normal study period in 1st semester of AY2022/2023 will be assigned a bedspace for the next semester, their room allocation results will be notified by email later.

For students who were not offered bedspaces:
    If additional bedspaces become available, e.g. from new students who did not come to UM, the bedspaces will be given to students on the waiting list according to the waiting list order (LINK), except for the situation mentioned in article 3 of the "Guidelines for Assessing the Applications for UM PGH Accommodation". In order to meet the accommodation needs of existing students, once bedspaces become available, the Student Resources Section will continue to notify applicants on the waiting list with the offer of a bedspace by email and in batches on or before 31 October 2022.

    Students who were not offered bedspaces should arrange off-campus accommodation themselves. The Student Affairs Office provides the following service and information, and will provide as much support as possible:

B. Remarks:
I. For new move-in students, please be reminded to complete the PGH move-in procedure within the first month of the relative stay period in person. Otherwise, your bedspace will be cancelled automatically. A one-month residence fee will be charged for this kind of case.

II. Requests for extension of stay will not be considered.

III. The following summer stay students are required to move out from PGH on or before 24 July 2022, 14:00, but is subject to change in view of the epidemic situation.

    a) PGH residents whose applications have been accepted but did NOT settle the residence fee of 1st semester of AY2022/2023 on time;
    b) PGH residents who did not apply for the accommodation of 1st semester of AY2022/2023;
    c) PGH residents whose application of 1st semester of AY2022/2023 were not approved.

IV. Move-out procedure: students must reserve the move-out appointment at the PGH Management Company (S3-G003) at least 72 hours (3 days) before the move-out date, otherwise a handling fee of MOP500 will be charged.

    E.g. If a student would like to move-out on 24 July (11:00am), he/she shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 21 July (11:00am).

    - PGH residents must return their room keys or cards and any other UM properties and pay all related fees and fines upon move-out.

    - Residents are required to remove their personal belongings and garbage in the room before move-out. Otherwise, their belongings in the room will be disposed of and the Garbage Removal Fee (MOP370 per person) will be charged.


V. Overstay penalty: for residents who did not move-out of PGH by the date stated in Point B-III, their room cards will be deactivated and an eviction order will be issued to overstayed residents. Moreover, the resident will be charged the residence fee of the relative residence period and an extra overstay penalty (MOP440/suite/per night, MOP220/single room/per night and MOP155/resident in a shared room/per night) according to the type of the occupied room until the completion of accommodation application or move-out procedure.

For those residents who have moved out of PGH WITHOUT performing the move-out procedure, UM will take relevant disciplinary actions, handling fees will also be charged. UM will charge the residence fee and overstay penalty until the move-out procedure is completed.

VI. According to Article 39 of the Personnel Statue of UM and Article 9 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs of the UM about the attribution of housing subsidy, UM staff is not eligible to receive the housing subsidy when he/she successfully applies for the housing provided by UM or any public entities, including the Student Dormitory (i.e. Postgraduate House).

VII. Room assignment is arranged by SRS. For any room with vacant bedspace, SRS reserves all rights to bedspace assignment.
