In order to enhance UM staff members’ understanding of the nation, the Human Resources Section of the Office of Administration organized an in-house training course on "Culture of Chinese Characters and Foundation of Chinese Classics" on 19 October 2022.
Prof. ZHU Shoutong, Director of Centre for Chinese History and Culture in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), introduced the merits, features, profoundness and complexity of Chinese characters, as well as the relationship between Chinese characters, traditional Chinese culture and Chinese classics. A total of 120 staff members participated.
The University hopes that this training can enhance staff members’ national knowledge, arouse their interest in Chinese language and culture, promoting patriotism and strengthening their national pride.
