In order to enhance UM staff members’ understanding of the nation, the Human Resources Section of the Office of Administration organized two in-house training courses, namely “History of Chinese Constitutionalism” and “Constitutional Order in the Special Administrative Region”, on 15 March and 23 March 2022 respectively.
Dr. KONG Wa, Senior Instructor of the Faculty of Law (FLL), introduced the concept and status of constitution, the history of constitutionalism in the late Qing Dynasty, in the Republic of China and in the People’s Republic of China, as well as the previous amendments to the Constitution in China during the course “History of Chinese Constitutionalism”. Over 110 staff members attended the training.
Prof. LOK Wai Kin, Director of Centre for Constitutional Law and Basic Law Studies in the FLL, introduced the structure and expression of the constitutional foundation, as well as the importance of maintaining and consolidating the constitutional foundation in Macao SAR during the online course “Constitutional Order in the Special Administrative Region”. Around 100 staff members participated.
The University hopes that these training courses can enhance staff members’ national knowledge, arouse their interest in both national and regional constitutionalism, promoting patriotism and strengthening their national pride.
