| The Talents Development Committee has launched a 45-day public consultation from 11 November 2021 to 24 December 2021 on the setting up of a new legal system to introduce talents to the Macao SAR.
For the purpose of facilitating adequate economic diversification, the Macao SAR Government plans to attract first leading and senior professionals in the fields of broad healthcare, modern finance, cutting-edge technology, and cultural and sports industry. This is aimed at supporting local development of these sectors through the expertise, experience, and networks of the imported talents.
Based on previous studies, the Talents Development Committee has adopted feasible suggestions from the local community and referenced to experiences from different regions. Considering local realities, a talents introduction scheme has been proposed, which consists of three categories, namely High-calibre Talents Programme, Outstanding Talents Programme, and Senior Professionals Programme. Through this scheme, it is expected to bring in talents of different levels to boost the four emerging industries mentioned above and to promote sustainable societal development in general.
In order to fully collect public views and build consensus, all community members are encouraged to provide their precious opinions or suggestions during the consultation period.
