Meeting on 《The Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System》
The Macao SAR Government has introduced the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System which aims to enhance the social protection for Macao residents in their old age and to complement the existing social security system. The relevant law has come into effect on 1 January 2018. In this regard, Mr. Ip Peng Kin, Chief of Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms. Heidi Ho, Consultant of Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, representatives from the Social Security Fund, Ms. Chan Pou Wan, Vice-President of Administrative Committee, Ms. Regina Ieong, Head of Department of Central Provident Fund System and Ms. Wanny Lei have paid a visit to the University of Macau and met with our Rector, Vice Rector (Administration) and Director of Office of Administration on 14 May 2018.
The delegates from the Social Security Fund introduced and promoted the System with detailed explanation on the relevant legislation and the benefits of this System to the Macao’s residents (For example: When we join the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System, we can use the fund granted by the government for investment).
To allow UM staff better understand the operation of the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System, delegates from the Social Security Fund will be invited to provide briefings to UM staff. Details of the briefings will be announced later.
