2020/2021 UM Student Awards Ceremony” was held successfully
The "Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the University of Macau: 2020/2021 UM Student Awards Ceremony" was successfully held at the UM Student Activity Centre E31- Theatre on 12 May 2021. Honorable guests attended the ceremony including Prof. Billy So, Vice Rector (Student Affairs), Mr. Paul PANG, Dean of Students, Prof. Janny LEUNG, Master of Choi Kai Yau College, Prof. YIP Ming-Chuen, Master of Lui Che Woo College, Prof. Kit THOMPSON, Master of Moon Chun Memorial College, Prof. Alfred WONG, Interim Master of Cheng Yu Tung College, Prof. Katrine WONG, Interim Master of Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College, Dr. Kevin HUANG, Associate Master of Cheong Kun Lun College, Ms. Grace CHAU, Director of Office of Sports Affairs, Ms. Stephanie IO, Head of Student Development Section and Mr. Samson CHEONG, Head of Student Resources Section.
This ceremony aims to reward students and student organizations for their contribution and outstanding performance in this academic year of 2020/21. Around 30 individual and team awards were presented at the ceremony, divided into 3 categories including Loyalty Awards, Student Organization Awards and Outstanding Awards.
Prof. Billy So, Vice Rector (Student Affairs) mentioned in his welcome remarks that it has been a very challenging year for many of us as we needed to adapt to various new policies, such as adhering the social distancing guidelines and wearing face masks. However, he is proud that our students have weathered the storm. The students' creativity allowed them to overcome the constraints and execute projects in innovative ways. Our University Team members had also showed that nothing could hinder their heart of bringing glory to UM. He is very pleased that our students had made the most out of their university experience.
Around 100+ guests, coaches, professors and students attended the ceremony to witness the students' contribution and glory. Besides the student awards, we also presented the "Certification of Appreciation" to the university team coaches. |
