Dear Postgraduate Students,

Applicants, who have any objection on the following "Accepted List & Waiting List", may submit their appeals to Student Resources Section (SRS) within 5 working days from the day after the announcement of the list (i.e. 6 May 2022 to 13 May 2022). Otherwise, no appeal will be accepted afterward.

Please be informed the Accepted List & Waiting List for the accommodation of the 1st semester of AY2022/2023 is attached below. The present application is handled according to the “PGH Resident Rules” and the “Guidelines for Assessing the Applications for UM PGH Accommodation” (Click the hyperlink in blue for more details). Due to insufficient bedspaces in PGH, the University can only ensure accommodation for year-one postgraduate students who are in their first year of study and do not have a residence in Macao. After bedspaces are given to the afore-mentioned year-one students, remaining bedspaces are not enough to accommodate all existing students.

A. Accepted List and Waiting List of PGH Accommodation for 1st semester of AY2022/2023:

The present approval list includes the following students:
    1) Students who are guaranteed an accommodation (please refer to item 4 of article 2 of the above-mentioned guidelines for who these students are);
    2) 100 students who have the highest numbers of PGH points* (the students in the above point #1 are not counted towards these 100 bedspaces). The PGH points of these 100 students ranges between 29 and 56 (only part of the students who have 29 PGH points are given a bedspace and it was determined by a draw lot due to insufficient bedspaces);
    3) Remaining PhD students who will be within the normal study period in the 1st semester of AY2022/2023 and have not less than 0 PGH point (only part of this type of students who have 0 PGH point are given a bedspace due to insufficient bedspaces).
    * Only PGH points gained between 11 April 2021 and 29 March 2022 are counted towards the present application.

For students who are not offered a bedspace:
Students whose applications are not accepted at this moment have been placed on the attached waiting list in a sequence decided according to the above-mentioned guidelines. If there are bedspaces released from students who failed to settle the payment or from students who cancelled their applications, the bedspaces will be allocated according to the order of the waiting list, except for the situation mentioned in article 3 of the above-mentioned guidelines. In order to meet the accommodation needs of existing students, once there is a bedspaces available, the Student Resources Section will continue to notify applicants on the waiting list with the offer of a bedspace by email and in batches on or before 31 October 2022.

Students who are not offered a bedspace should arrange off-campus accommodation themselves. The Student Affairs Office provides the following service and information, and will provide as much support as possible:

C. Payment of Residence Fee:
    I. Students whose application of 1st semester of AY2022/2023 have been accepted will be required to pay the residence fee within the payment period stated in the schedule under Point B.

    II. E-debit Note will be issued through the Student Information System (SI). (https://isw.umac.mo/siweb/).

    III. Payment methods for the E-debit Note: please refer to FO website (https://fo.um.edu.mo/student/tuition_fee/e-debit_note/)

    IV. LATE payment will NOT be accepted. If NO residence fee is received by the payment deadline, the application will be cancelled automatically and NO bedspace will be reserved.

    V. Students who did not pay the PGH residence fee within the payment period will automatically be considered as given up the allocated bedspace for the 1st semester of AY2022/2023 and the e-debit note and overdue penalty will be deleted automatically from the Student Information (SI) system.

    VI. If students are assigned to a room type which is different from the one they are staying in during the summer stay period. The residence fee of the month which students are required to complete the room change procedure will be charged according to the room type with HIGHER room rate. A new debit note will be sent separately to students for the room rate difference of the semester.

    VII. Students who have paid the PGH residence fee but decided NOT to move-into PGH in the 1st semester of AY2022/2023, are required to send a written request to Student Resources Section (SRS) for approval before the start of the residence period (i.e. on or before 31 July 2022). For the amount of refundable residence fee, please refer to "PGH Refund Terms and Conditions".

    VIII. Students who have paid the PGH residence fee and decided to move-out of PGH within the first 3 months of the residence period of 1st semester of AY2022/2023 (i.e. 1 August 2022 to 31 October 2022), PGH residence fee will be refunded in proportion to students ONLY with reasons of graduation, exchange (with supporting documents), medical issues (with medical certificates from hospitals in Macao). For the amount of refundable residence fee, please refer to "PGH Refund Terms and Conditions". No refund will be given to the students who moved-out without aforesaid reasons or moved-out on or after 1 November 2022.

D. Remarks:
    I. Following summer stay residents are required to move-out of PGH on or before 24 July 2022, 14:00.
      a) PGH residents whose applications have been accepted but did NOT settle the residence fee of the 1st semester of AY2022/2023 on time;
      b) PGH residents who did not apply for the accommodation of 1st semester of AY2022/2023;
      c) PGH residents whose application of 1st semester of AY2022/2023 were not approved.

    II. Move-out procedure: students must reserve the move-out appointment at the PGH Management Company (S3-G003) at least 72 hours (3 days) before the move-out date, otherwise a handling fee of MOP500 will be charged.

    E.g. If a student would like to move-out on 24 July (11:00am), he/she shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 21 July (11:00am).

    - PGH residents must return their room keys or cards and any other UM properties and pay all related fees and fines upon move-out.

    - Residents are required to remove their personal belongings and garbage in the room before move-out. Otherwise, their belongings in the room will be disposed of and the Garbage Removal Fee (MOP370 per person) will be charged.

    III. Overstay penalty: for residents who did not move-out of PGH by the date stated in Point D-I, their room cards will be deactivated and an eviction order will be issued to overstayed residents. Moreover, the resident will be charged the residence fee of the relative residence period and an extra overstay penalty (MOP440/suite/per night, MOP220/single room/per night and MOP155/resident in a shared room/per night) according to the type of the occupied room until the completion of accommodation application or move-out procedure.

    For those residents who have moved out of PGH WITHOUT performing the move-out procedure, UM shall not only take relevant disciplinary actions, handling fees will also be charged. UM will charge the residence fee and overstay penalty until the move-out procedure is completed.

    IV. According to Article 39 of the Personnel Statue of UM and Article 9 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs of the UM about the attribution of housing subsidy, UM staff is not eligible to receive the housing subsidy when he/she successfully applies for the housing provided by UM or any public entities, including the Student Dormitory (i.e. Postgraduate House).

    V. Room assignment is arranged by SRS. For any room with vacant bedspace, SRS reserves all rights to assign other students to them at any moment.
