Dear colleagues and students,
To advocate the annual "National Week for Awareness of Energy Conservation", Office for the Development of the Energy Sector (GDSE) of Government of Macao S.A.R. is organizing the Macao Energy Conversation Week 2020 activity series between 14 and 20 June 2020 to promote the importance of energy saving. As UM is one of the co-organizers, we would like to have your support and participation of the activity series.
Macao Energy Conversation Week 2020 activity series include:
1-Hour Lights Off Campaign | Date: 15 June 2020
Time: 20:30 - 21:30
- UM is joining the "1-hour Lights Off Campaign" where part of the lighting system on campus will be switched off for an hour.
- You are encouraged to switch off unnecessary lightings at home during the activity.

Dress Casual Summer | Date: 16 June - 31 August 2020
- Adjust the temperature of the air-conditioner to not lower than 25℃.
- Dress casually if you are not required to wear uniform and when you are not attending external official activities.
- If you have to wear uniform for official purpose, please wear "light-weighed uniform", such as removing coat or tie, to support energy conservation while maintaining professional image.
Guidelines for casual dress code:
- Tidy and decent outfits.
- Choose clothes made with light-weighed, cool and non-transparent materials. Plain or light colours are preferred.
- For male, wear shirts or polo shirts; for female, wear sleeved shirts and pants.
- Avoid wearing shorts, vests, sandals or similar outfits.

5% Energy Conservation Action | Target: household residents in Macao
Period: July to October this year; the electricity consumption is calculated based on the monthly electricity bill
- You will be eligible to participate in a lucky draw when you save 5% or more electricity consumption during the period of July to October 2020 when compared with that of last year. Prizes include coupons of energy-saving electrical appliances of MOP10,000, electricity payment rebate, etc.
