The General Data Protection Regulations, EU (GDPR) has been effective since 25 May, 2018. If involve the collection and processing of personal information from European Union. Besides complying to the University policies and the existing local laws and regulations, the related responsible unit must consider if the new EU regulation is applicable. In case of using third-party services, the related policies, laws and regulations must be considered if applicable. For details, please refer to the official website of EU-GDPR -> (Link) and the Macao Personal Data Protection Office Leaflet (Chinese version) -> (Link).

In addition, we aware that some companies and cloud service providers such as airline companies, hotel websites, Google, and Linkedin, etc. informed the related customers about the updated privacy terms in response to new EU regulations. In order to
avoid hackers from making use of the said incident to send the fraudulent emails, users are recommended to confirm whether they have used the relevant services and verify the authenticity of the emails before responding to the emails. Moreover, users can browse the official website directly or contact the relevant company instead of responding to the email.
