Dear colleagues and students,

Pay attention to personal and environmental hygiene is very important during the anti-pandemic period. Besides wearing masks and washing hands frequently, we should also pay attention to the following measures when using water dispensers on campus.
  • In order to keep the nozzle free from contamination with respiratory secretions or germs from our hands, we should not let our body parts or water bottles come into contact with the nozzle and protective guard.
  • Do not spit into the dispenser or use it to wash hands and personal items.
  • Ensure that there is no leakage, blockage of nozzle or accumulation of water in the bowl.
  • Do not use the water dispenser if there is any sign of contamination, damage or vandalism.
  • Immunocompromised patients should not consume water directly from water dispensers. Instead, they should consume boiled water.
  • Water obtained directly from water dispensers is not suitable to prepare infant formula for infants. Use boiled water that has been cooled down to not lower than 70℃ instead for this purpose.

To ensure the safety and hygiene of the drinking water, Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs has been taking samples of the water from the drinking fountains on campus and arranging laboratory tests. Test results can be found on HSEO webpage https://hseo.um.edu.mo/test-results/ .
