Dear PGH students,
- If you are planning to RENEW the PGH accommodation for 2nd semester of AY2021/2022 and continue to stay in your current bedspace, DO NOT submit this application. If you are eligible for renewal, your accommodation will be automatically renewed.
- If you are planning to RENEW the PGH accommodation for 2nd semester of AY2021/2022 but need to change room category or roommate, please SUBMIT this "Room Change Application".

We would like to let you know that the “PGH Room Change Application for 2nd semester of AY2021/2022” will be opened for application from 19 November 2021 to 25 November 2021. Details of the application are as follows:
A. Eligible applicants: Only current PGH residents who will renew the PGH accommodation for 2nd semester of AY2021/2022 who meet the requirements stated in Point C - Room Change Option (Any applications from students who do not meet the above requirement will NOT be accepted)

C. Room Change Options: (Applicants can refer to the "Brief of Room Changing Options" (the third tab in this bulletin) to determine which option will apply based on your own circumstances)

2) Shared room Master residents in S1 to S4 | - Priority of single room allocation will be given to PhD applicants first, and then will be allocated to eligible applicants according to the sequence of PGH Points. When the number of available rooms is insufficient and equal points occur, it will be decided by a draw.
-SRS will assign the single room(s) randomly to successful applicants and no further adjustment would be allowed for room allocation.
- For single room applicants, all PGH Points earned during the calculation period will reset for those successful single-room applicants. Please consider carefully whether to change to a single room. |
Option 3 | Single room in S1 to S4 which to be randomly assigned by SRS subject to room availability. In addition, if the application for a single room is unsuccessful, I accept to change the application to Option 4 - "Shared room in S1 to S4 which to be randomly assigned by the SRS". | 1) Shared room Master residents in S1 to S4
2) Single room PhD residents in W32 | - Priority of single room allocation will be given to PhD applicants first, and then will be allocated to eligible applicants according to the sequence of PGH Points. When the number of available rooms is insufficient and equal points occur, it will be decided by a draw.
-SRS will assign the single room(s) randomly to successful applicants and no further adjustment would be allowed for room allocation.
- Priority of shared room allocation will be given to Master applicants. When the number of applicants exceed the number of vacant bedspaces, applicants who have already matched with a student who is currently staying alone in a shared room will be arranged first, and then other applicants will be allocated according to the sequence of PGH Points. SRS will assign the shared room(s) with a vacant bedspace randomly to those successful applicants according to the sleeping time. When equal points occur, it will be decided by a draw.
- No further adjustment would be allowed for the room allocation.
- For single room applicants, all PGH Points earned during the calculation period will reset for those successful single-room applicants. Please consider carefully whether to change to a single room. |
Option 4 | Shared room in S1 to S4 which to be randomly assigned by SRS subject to room availability. | 1) Master residents in S1 to S4
2) PhD residents in S1 to S4 & W32 | - Priority of shared room allocation will be given to Master applicants. When the number of applicants exceed the number of vacant bedspaces, applicants who have already matched with a student who is currently staying alone in a shared room will be arranged first, and then other applicants will be allocated according to the sequence of PGH Points. SRS will assign the shared room(s) with a vacant bedspace randomly to those successful applicants according to the sleeping time. When equal points occur, it will be decided by a draw.
- No further adjustment would be allowed for the room allocation.
- PhD students who have successfully applied to change the room type from single room to shared room, their request made at other times for changing to a single room during AY2021/2022 will not be accepted. |
Option 5 | Interchange shared room bedspace

Option 6 | Interchange single room bedspace
(Both single room residents must apply) | 1) Both applicants are single room residents in S1 to S4

D. Notes for applicants:
1. ALL residents can only change their room ONCE per semester.
2. Only current PGH residents of 1st semester of AY2021/2022 who meet the requirements stated in point C - Room Change Option are allowed to participate in this application. Any applications from residential colleges or non-PGH residents will NOT be accepted.
3. After the result is announced, students who DO NOT perform their room changing procedure within the designated period will be treated as giving up the new arranged room. Besides, students may not be allowed to stay in the original room. Completion of PGH room changing procedure refers to completion of move out of the previous room and move in the newly assigned room.
4. Student who has completed the room change procedure from shared room to single room during the room changing period, the PGH residence fee from January 2022 to May 2022 will be charged on the room type with higher room rate. E-debit note of the room rate difference will be issued to the residents who are successfully changed from shared room to single room in the due course.
5. Application is not guaranteed for approval, it is subject to bedspaces availability.
6. According to the relevant rules announced in the application for 1st semester of AY2021/2022 which conducted from 31 March 2021 to 12 April 2021, PhD students (except freshmen of AY2021/2022) who did not apply for a single room in the application of 1st semester of AY2021/2022 , their request made at other times for changing to a single room during AY2021/2022 will not be accepted. 7. ALL PhD students who have changed the room type from a single room to a shared room during 1st semester of AY2021/2022, further room change request to a single room during AY2021/2022 will not be accepted.

- 成功獲分配單人間的申請人在上述宿舍積分計算期間的所有積分會被清零，請申請人慎重考慮是否轉房至單人間。 |

D. 申請人注意事項:
1. 每位住宿學生每學期只能轉房間一次。
2. 本次申請只限2021/2022學年第二學期研究生宿舍續住學生並符合 C 點 - 轉房申請選項中列明的申請人要求之申請人參與。書院或非研究生宿舍住宿學生的申請均不受理。
3. 公佈結果後，如學生未在指定時間內完成轉房手續，將被視為放棄了新房間的安排，且可能不被允許留在原來的房間。 完成轉房手續是指從前一個房間遷出並遷入新分配的房間。
4. 若同學在轉房期間完成從雙人房轉到單人房的轉房手續，由2022年1月至2022年5月的住宿費將以房費較高的房型收取。完成從雙人房轉到單人房的學生將收到電子繳費單以繳付其房價差費用。
5. 申請不保證被批准，所有申請之審批將視乎實際床位情況而定。
