Dear PGH Students,

We would like to let you know that the result of “PGH Single Room Application & Room Change Application for the 1st semester of AY2021/2022” as below:

A.Application Result:

B. Room Change Period:
    24 September 2021 - 27 September 2021

C. Procedure for Room Change :
    1) Before room change, student should...
    - Remove all personal belongings and garbage, otherwise, Garbage Removal Fee (MOP 370 per person) will be imposed.
    - Restore the room as its original condition, otherwise, Cleaning Fee (MOP 420 per room) will be imposed.
    - Clear the common area (eg. bathroom) even the other student in the same room has not moved out.

    2) During the room change period...
    (a) Student should...
      - Approach the Management Company Office# for the newly assigned room, present your student ID to the staff and fill in the Room Change Form.
      - Collect the new room key card.
      - Check the new room and complete the equipment checklist to confirm the condition of the new room. The checklist must be returned to the Management Company Office# for the newly assigned room within 3 days. If no checklist is received, it is assumed that the room is in good condition and student should bear the responsibility for any damage or lost of equipment.
      - Return the old room key card to the staff of Management Company Office# for the old room. - Compensate any damaged or lost property in the old room.

      - In case you are unable to change to the new room in person, you may choose to authorize another UM student to perform the room change procedure on your behalf. To perform the authorization process, please fill in the authorization form and attach the I.D. copies of both parties and hand them to the Management Company during the appointment.

    (b) Management Company staff will...
      - Check the cleanliness / conditions of the current room according to the equipment checklist.
      - Record the electricity and water meter reading for excess usage if any.

    # Location of the management company in each area:
      - S1 to S4: S3-G003
      - W32: W32-G003
D. Points to Note:
    1. ALL residents can only change their room ONCE per semester.

    2. Only PGH residents who have completed the PGH move-in procedure on or before 20 September 2021 are allowed to participate in this application. Any applications from residential colleges or non-PGH residents will NOT be accepted.

    3. After the result is announced, students who DID NOT perform their room change procedure within the designated period will be treated as forfeiting the newly assigned room. Besides, students may not be allowed to stay in their original room. Completion of PGH room change procedure refers to completion of move out of the previous room and move in the newly assigned room.

    4. NO further adjustment would be allowed for the newly assigned bed spaces to those successful applicants.

    5. The stay period of the newly assigned bed space is from 24 September 2021 - 31 December 2021, move-out by 14:00. If student renew the accommodation for 2nd semester of AY2021/2022, the stay period will be extended to 31 May 2022, move-out by 14:00.

    6. For single room allocation:


      6.1 Students who have been successfully assigned for a single room and complete the room change procedure, their PGH Points earned during the calculation period (i.e. 11 April 2021 - 17 September 2021) will reset. Please consider carefully whether to change to a single room. For students who forfeited OR failed to complete the room change procedure within the designated period, their PGH points could be carried forward for the next application.

      6.2 Student who has completed the room change procedure from a shared room to a single room during the room change period, the PGH residence fee from October 2021 to December 2021 will be charged based on the room type with the higher room rate.

      6.3 The residents who have successfully changed from a shared room to a single room will receive a debit note one month later to pay the difference in room rate. Kindly check the Student Information Web System from time to time and settle the payment on time.


    7. Application is not guaranteed for approval, it is subject to bedspaces availability.

    8. According to the relevant rules announced in the application for 1st semester of AY2021/2022 which conducted from 31 March 2021 to 12 April 2021, PhD students (except freshmen of AY2021/2022) who did not apply for a single room in the application of 1st semester of AY2021/2022 , their request made at other times for changing to a single room during AY2021/2022 will not be accepted.
