UM Public Speaking Team Won the First and Second runner-up at Macao-wide English Speech Contest
The 20th Macao-wide English Speech Contest and the 27th ‘21st Century Cup’ National English Speaking Competition Macao Regional Contest was successfully held on November 6. A total of 6 contestants from UM public speaking team entered the finals of the university group. Among them, Zhang Ming Zhu, a second-year student from FAH and MCMC won the first runner-up; Feng Tong Tong, a third-year student from FBA and LCWC won the second runner-up.
Another 4 students received merit awards. They are Chen Jun Yi, a second-year student from FSS and CKLC; Li Xin Jue, a third-year student from FBA and SPC; Liu Ya Xin, a first-year student from FBA and CYTC; Liu Yan Tong, a second-year student from FBA and LCWC.
The theme of this competition is "Planet Earth". The competition consists of open, university, and high school groups. The competition is divided into selection and finals. Participants must make every effort to advance to the final. In the university category, the theme is "The Future of Human Beings". Participants must prepare their own four-minute speeches, give impromptu speeches, and answer on-site questions in the finals.
