Dear colleagues and students,
Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs received several emergency service reports recently, and found that most of them were non-life-threatening and non-emergency cases. Instead, patients' conditions were stable and could seek assistance at medical institutions on their own, such as small scratches on skin, diarrhea, etc. HSEO strongly reminds all students and staff to think carefully before making an emergency call. Do not misuse ambulance service , but leave it for people in need.
During the pandemic of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia, when rescuers/ ambulancemen receive emergency call, they may need to wear/take extra protective equipment. After transporting patients, they will go straightly to washing center for washing and disinfecting the ambulance, equipment and rescuers themselves. If the ambulance service is misused, the resources will be wasted and cannot be used on suspected cases or confirmed cases. The Macao government's prevention and control measures will be affected.
