Dear colleagues and students,

Many people like to start a day's work with a cup of coffee in the morning. Besides coffee, there is caffeine in tea, energy drink, coke, chocolate, bubble milk tea as well.

Source of caffeine
Caffeine is a purine alkaloid substance that naturally exists in plants, such as cacao tree, coffee tree, tea tree. In addition to naturally existing caffeine, it is added in energy drinks, chewing gum, etc. in the food industry. It can also be used as therapeutic treatment.

Effects of Caffeine to Health
After taking caffeine through our diet, it takes about 4 hours for a healthy adult to excrete 50% of it. Short-term intake may cause anxiety and sleep disturbances. Depending on the daily amount, long-term intake may lead to cardiovascular problems. Pregnant and lactating women should limit their intake to 200mg per day.

Bubble Milk Tea and Caffeine
Most bubble drinks are made with tea. The caffeine content of a cup of bubble milk tea may be higher than that of a can of energy drink. Therefore, we should pay attention to the amount and time of drinking bubble milk tea to avoid sleep disturbances.
