Tighten the Preventive Measures in response to the Unstable Pandemic Situation of COVID-19

Dear colleagues and students,

It is now the summer holidays and many people are going to travel. At the same time, a lot of students are coming to the UM campus for registration and checking-in in dormitories. As there are a lot of people enter and depart from Macao, and at the same time, the pandemic situation in Mainland China is unstable recently, Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs urges all of you to pay attention to the disease development of COVID-19 and take suitable preventive measures. In addition, due to the unstable pandemic situation in Mainland China, Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre tightened the preventive measures on 29 July 2021:

1) As of 00:00 on 31 July, all persons who intend to board a flight departing from all areas of Mainland China to Macao must present a nucleic acid test certificate with negative result which is valid within 48 hours;

2) Persons who have visited the following places in Mainland China are subject to medical observation in designated places when entering Macao for a period of 14 days from the date of departure, but the period should not be less than 7 days after entering Macao:
  • As of 00:00 on 29 July, persons who have been in Zhangjiajie City (whole city) of Hunan Province on or after 17 July and who have left the named place for a period of less than 14 days, as well as persons who have already entered Macao and have been to Zhangjiajie City of Hunan Province on or after 17 July, should be subject to medical observation. Health Bureau will send them text message for notification;
  • As of 19:00 on 29 July: persons who have been to Changde City (whole city) of Hunan Province on or after 17 July and have left the city for a period of less than 14 days;
  • As of 19:00 on 29 July: persons who have been to Nanjing City (whole city) of Jiangsu Province within 14 days;

3) As of 29 July, persons listed below must undergo self-health management for a period of 14 days from the date of departure. During this period, they have to take nucleic acid test at intervals of 1, 2, 3, and 5 days. Appointment for free nucleic acid test can be made with the link https://app.ssm.gov.mo/mandatoryrnatestbook/Booking?lang=en. The test result will not be uploaded to Macao Health Code and cannot be used for entry or exit purpose;
  • Persons who have been to Chengdu City of Sichuan Province, Shenyang City or Dalian City, Liaoning Province on or after 17 July, including those who have already entered Macao;
  • Persons who have been to Nanjing City of Jiangsu Province in the 14 days prior to entry, or those who have been to Changde City of Hunan Province on or after 17 July but have already entered Macao.
