UM team won the Merit Award in the ACCA - CFA Institute Business Competition 2019-20
The University of Macau (UM) team has won the Merit Award in the ACCA - CFA Institute Business Competition 2019-20. A total of twenty teams from tertiary institutes in Hong Kong and Macau have participated in the Competition. The UM team with four accounting students, Ms. Zhang Yue, Ms. Huang Bi Ying, Ms. Yang Jing Yuan, and Ms. Liu Jia Yu from the Faculty of Business Administration, achieved one of the eight Finalist Teams and advanced to the Final Competition in Hong Kong, January 2020. Mr. Wilson Cheng FCCA, Partner, Hong Kong Business Tax/Services/Tax Controversy Services, EY, was assigned as coach to the UM team. He has provided practical guidance from experience to the team throughout the process as well as career advice.
The ACCA - CFA Institute Business Competition 2019-20 offered contesting teams the opportunity to be exposed to real-life cases provided by the case partner Barclays and take part in challenges of ethical dilemmas. The competition aims to build the awareness on the importance of ethical behavior for future leaders.
