Dear colleagues and students,

The Macao government has already launched the vaccination of Novel Coronavirus, and urged all residents to vaccinate as soon as possible, so as to build a herd immunity barrier and to prevent disease transmission. The 1st batch of vaccines is suitable to persons who are 18 years old to below 60 years old. You may seek your family doctor's advice or visit the following website to find out the details of the vaccination (please use Google Chrome; Chinese and Portuguese only).

The 1st phase of appointment is opened to the following 3 categories, including front-line anti-pandemic personnel (namely medical personnel, auxiliary personnel working in medical/ clinical and laboratory units, those who work at the port, firefighters, police and customs officers), people who have high occupational exposure risk (namely workers of cold chain and fresh food, residents and workers of social care institutions, teachers, workers in the transportation industry, tourism industry, gambling industry, and governmental security forces), and those who need to travel to high-risk transmission countries in the near future.

The 2nd phase is opened to the rest of the Macao residents, who may make appointment starting from 9th February 2021, 12:00. Vaccination will be arranged on 22nd February the earliest.

The 3rd phase will be started depending on the progress of the 1st and 2nd phases, and will be opened to non-local workers and non-local residents who legally stay in Macao. If non-local workers belong to the categories of the 1st phase, they may now make the appointment for vaccination.

The Macao government has also purchased group insurance for people having this vaccination. The coverage includes death or absolute and permanent disability caused by the adverse effects after vaccination. The insured capital is up to 1 million per person, and is halved for those who are over 70 years old. The insured period is within 90 days after vaccination of any dose.
