UM English Debating Team got a great result in the national English Debate Competition
The University of Macau’s English Debating Team (EDT) participated in the 23rd FLTRP·ETIC in June, and competed with nearly 800 debaters from more than 400 colleges and universities in Mainland China. Through many rounds of competition, the University of Macau debated against many colleges and universities to win the First Prize and place as one of the top eight teams in the country.
More than 400 outstanding universities participated in the competition this year, including Peking University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, etc. UM was exempted from the regional trials and entered the national competition because our good results in previous years. In the national competition, after eight rounds of preliminaries, our team competed with more than 100 colleges and universities. Two students participated in this competition as representatives of the University of Macau, Tang Cheok Man, a year-one undergraduate student from the Faculty of Social Science and MCMC; Wu Chun Xuan, a year-three undergraduate student from the Faculty of Business Administration and SHEAC.
