ICTO noticed that some users received phone calls claiming from Immigration Office for immigration issue and users are instructed to follow the voice prompt. According to the evidences, such phone calls are fake, and we have reflected this case to the telecommunication company.
Therefore, we would like to call for your attention and note the following:
- If you receive similar suspicious calls, please hang up the line immediately. If you have any questions, you may contact the related Office for enquiry.
- If you are requested to perform actions such as those listed below, please DO NOT proceed without verification:
- Request to download an unknown application on your computer/mobile phone;
- Request to browse unknown websites;
- Request to provide personal information such as name, ID number, bank account number and password, etc.
- If the conversation involve money or threat to pay a ransom for any reason, please stop and think carefully, and DO NOT pay any ransom. You may consider reporting to police if necessary.
The contents and patterns of fraud will change constantly. If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact our Help Desk.
