MCM College Art of Tea workshop

Moon Chun Memorial College invited Mr. Chi Him U, Director of Macau Tea Art Professionals' Association, Macau Cultural Ambassador, Galaxy Macau Tea Master, 2018 National Champion of Mingxing Tea Artist Competition, and 2022 Champion of Mingxing Tea Artist Greater Bay Area Tea Instructor Competition, to explain to students the aesthetics of tea art, tea culture and the importance of Macau in the promotion of tea culture to the world.

Tea art and etiquette reflect the moral essence of Chinese culture, with an emphasis on balance, nature, elegance and manner. In addition to giving verbal description about the art of tea, Mr. U also demonstrated and taught students how to practice tea etiquette. With the actual engagement in the art of tea making, students know that tea tasting does not only focus on the taste, but also the smell, environment, and etiquette, building up a complete set of aesthetics.

China is the hometown of tea culture and Macau plays an important role in the promotion of modern Chinese tea culture to the West. As the gateway for tea promotion, Macau is left with a lot of precious tea cultural heritage, such as poems and couplets, paintings, tea places, tea artists and culture. These all contribute to the infinite cultural colors fostering the charm of Macau.
