Moon Chun Memorial College: “We Care” Elderly Volunteer Project
 Caring for the elderly has been MCM College’s main focus in volunteer service this year. The volunteer project took on the name of “We Care” Elderly and in collaboration with Macau IN Volunteer Group, and Casa Para Anciaos da Paroquia de Santo Antonio from February to April. This project promotes caring for the elderly who lack community support in the neighbourhood. The college recruited and trained fifteen students interested in serving the elderly.
Under the leadership of senior IN volunteers, the students conducted weekly visits to the elderly in small groups to get an insight of their living conditions. Volunteers accompanied the elderly to reach out to the community through visits to the elderly service centre to learn about social services in the community, so they can be connected to community resources and know where to seek help when needed. Finally, the elderly were invited to visit the campus of the University of Macau and attend a wrap-up session.
MCM College actively encourages students to participate in volunteer activities to cultivate service and leadership through RC Education.
