Moon Chun Memorial College organised a visit to the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) on 24th March, 2021 to learn about clean elections information and visit the branch office at Areia Preta. As 12th September is earmarked for the forthcoming election day (of the seventh Legislative Council),
the purpose of the visit is to strengthen students’ awareness of what is needed for an honest and fair election. A representative of CCAC offered in-depth explanation of bribery. Examples of such violations include acceptance of bribes in the form of cash, gifts, free meals and travel. Other benefits may include extended job opportunities, prospects of promotion. Students were urged to comply with all regulations to ensure that the elections are held ‘clean and fair’. Finally, William, the Robot was introduced to students as they visited other facilities such as the investigators’ equipment, simulated statement taking room and identification parade room, to gain a deeper understanding of CCAC’s functions and work environment. |
