Moon Chun Memorial College invited to perform and volunteered to raise funds at France Macau Business Association Charity Gala Dinner 2017

Moon Chun Memorial College strengthened its town-and-gown relationship with the local Macau community by showing a vivid presence at the France Macau Business Association Charity Gala Dinner “Le Grand Bal Masqué de Versailles” on 20th January 2017, one of the prime and most celebrated events in Macau’s social calendar.

Led by John Ma, director of UM String Ensemble, and ‘cellist Daniel Leong, MCMC students Tomorrow Hu, Lauren Pang, Tetsu Yuan, Kendall Fang and Ivy Lam played a series of carefully chosen works for string ensemble appropriate to the occasion. The students acquitted themselves with considerable aplomb, developing their musicianship, gaining valuable exposure and first-hand professional experience of performing live at a high-profile and high-visibility event.
In addition, 20 MCM students volunteered themselves to raise funds for Architecture Sans Frontières – Macau for “Project Shepherd”, a renovation project for the Good Shepherd Sisters Centre which offers short-term shelter for women and children who are usually victims of domestic violence. A total amount of MOP 47,123 was raised from selling raffle tickets and photos during the dinner and all money will directly support the project without deduction of any administration costs.

MCM College student have begun to establish a growing reputation as dynamic and much sought after ensembles, as well as promoting good causes, charitable and environmental, thus demonstrating all-round outstanding ambassadorship for MCMC, UM and Macau in a global context.
