Dear Postgraduate Students,

Since there are small number of shared rooms in male dormitory were released, a mid-term special application of the Postgraduate House (PGH) accommodation for 1st semester of AY2021/2022 is now open. Eligible students can submit a application during the application period. Details of the PGH Accommodation Mid-term Special Application for 1st semester of AY2021/2022 are as follows:
Before submitting your application, please read the below information carefully to ensure you understand thoroughly the arrangement of the application.

A. Eligible applicants: Active PG students who has not yet been successfully allocated to the accommodation of postgraduate house for 1st semester of AY2021/2022 (only for male students), but the following courses are excluded:
      • Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
      • Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
      • Doctor of Education (EdD/DED)
      • Doctor of Public Administration (DPA)
      • Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma Programmes

B. PGH Accommodation for 1st Semester of Academic Year 2021/2022 Schedule :

Check-in confirmation and payment information will be sent to applicants who have been approved for accommodation by email . Applicants who have not been approved will not receive an email notification.

Residence Period of 1st semester of AY2021/2022 (move out by 31 Dec 2021 (14:00))

B. Important Points to Note:
    I. Late applications will NOT be accepted.

    II. The Student Resources Section (SRS) will first allocate bed spaces according to the approval criteria stipulated in the Article 2 point 1 to 4 from “Guidelines for Assessing the Applications for UM PGH Accommodation”. The remaining beds will be allocated to eligible applicants according to the sequence of PGH Points. When the number of available rooms is insufficient and equal points occur, it will be decided by a draw. Students who are not offered bed spaces are required to arrange off-campus accommodation themselves. For off-campus accommodation information, please refer to Student Resources Section (Student Housing) website (https://srs.sao.um.edu.mo/).
    PGH points calculation period: 11 April 2021 to 30 September 2021

    III. Arrangement of residence fee and shared room allocation:
    -The accommodation fee for this mid-term application will be based on two full months.
    -The bedspace allocation is based on the actual shared room availability on-site, students might be assigned a roommate who has a different sleeping schedule due to room availability on-site.

    IV. Move-out procedure: Students must reserve the move-out procedure at the PGH Management Company (S3-G003) at least 72 hours (3 days) before the move-out date, if not, a handling fee of MOP500 will be charged. Receipt will be issued by the Management Company after the appointment is made (please keep it for further reference).

    For example, if a student would like to move out on 31 December (11:00am), s/he shall make the reservation via the Management Company on/before 28 December (11:00am).

    If students do not move out from PGH by the date stated in Point B-VI, besides residence fee, overstay penalty (MOP440/suite/per night, MOP220/single room/per night and MOP155/student in a shared room/per night) will be imposed until the completion of accommodation application or move-out procedure. Moreover, their room cards will be de-activated and an eviction order will also be issued to the overstayed students.

    V. According to Article 39 of the Personnel Statue of UM and Article 9 of Chapter 7 of Regulations of the Personnel Affairs of the UM about the attribution of housing subsidy, UM staff is not eligible to receive the housing subsidy when he/she successfully applies for the housing provided by UM or any public entities, including the Student Dormitory (i.e. Postgraduate House).

    VI. Room assignment is arranged by SRS. For any room with vacant beds, SRS reserves all rights to assign other students to them at any moment.

C. Application Procedure:

    III. Ensure the application information is filled correctly before submission as changes are not allowed once the submission is made.
    IV. Upon completion, click "YES" to submit and you will see this "GREEN TICK" for successful submission;
    V. Students will receive a confirmation email in their UM student email accounts after the application form is successfully submitted.
    VI. If NO confirmation is received, which means the delivery of application is unsuccessful, students should contact SRS to review the application and re-submit it again. Otherwise, the application will not be entertained after the application period.
    VII. Applicants with Macao Resident Identity Card who do not have residence in Macao must also fill out the “Declaration of No Residence in Macao” and send it to sao.pgh@um.edu.mo. For late / lack of submission of the declaration, application will not be entertained.
    Notes for Application Procedure:
      a) Each applicant can only fill in one (1) application form. If more than one (1) applications are received, only the earliest submission will be taken into account.
      b) Students should read and fill in the form carefully and completely.
      c) Please ensure the application information is filled correctly before submission as changes are not allowed once the submission is made.
      d) For any missing fields, the alert will pop up at the top-left corner.
      e) This form serves as an application only. The final arrangement is subject to the room availability.
