MCM College Responsible Citizenship Series: Visit to Commemorative Gallery of the Macau Basic Law
Moon Chun Memorial College organised a visit to the Commemorative Gallery of the Macau Basic Law on 7th April 2021. The visit also included the The Sculpture Park of the Chinese Ethnics and Golden Lotus Square. The purpose of the visit is to have a sense of belonging and identification with the motherland and Macau. A professional guide introduced sculptures and exhibits in the park, enabling students to understand the unique culture and characteristics of various ethnic groups in China. They could also feel the harmony and unity of the Chinese nation. The guide then introduced the meaning of the golden lotus souvenir (from the motherland) erected on the square. Shortly after, students proceeded to the Commemorative Gallery of the Macau Basic Law where they witnessed the precious photos and exhibits of Macau’s history and had a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the history of Macau’s return of sovereignty to the Motherland, drafting of the Basic Law and its Constitution, and Macau's successful practice of "One Country, Two Systems". Students thoroughly enjoyed the visit as it was a great learning opportunity and hoped that MCM College would organise more activities to deepen their understanding of the motherland. |
