Dear Colleagues,

Further to the earlier announcement regarding the “Guidelines on Exemption from Work during the Period from 5-7 October 2021” (LINK), please find the following supplementary information provided by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP):
  1. Staff members who need to work in the office during the work exemption period can be compensated by deducting the number of their normal working hours. The number of hours to be deducted shall be equal to that of the service hour(s) that they provided during the said period; however, it shall be capped at the number of daily normal working hours, without prejudice to the right to receive other compensations that they are entitled to. Please fill out the attached form of “Work Record for Staff Member Performing Duties during the Work Exemption Periods”.
  2. Staff members who have obtained approval for their annual leave/ advanced annual leave for the above work exemption period, can apply for leave cancellation by notifying their respective unit heads on or before the date of work exemption.
