| Important Notice of Using "Prevent copying" Delivery Option in Lotus Notes |  |
Some users may notice that the Lotus Notes system provides a function called "Prevent copying", which is a delivery option aimed at preventing email recipients from copying a Notes mail message with the clipboard, forwarding, replying with history, and printing.
However, due to the technology limitation of web browsers and email systems nowadays, this delivery option can only work for the internal Notes Client users. The recipients still have a chance to break this prevention in some ways such as re-typing the mail or capturing the screen. It is also impossible to restrict the recipients using Webmail client or the email auto-mail-forwarding to other mail systems, e.g. Lotus Web Client, Our UNIX Mail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail and Gmail, etc.
Therefore, ICTO would like to remind you that DO NOT treat "Prevent copying" or similar option as a strict security measure to prevent the disclosure of important information. |
