ICTO 2FA Tips - Change Mobile Device & Self-Service for 2FA


2FA is required when you access UM ICTO service outside campus network. If your mobile device change, lost, or damage when you are out of campus, ICTO provides the self-service that you can apply temporary passcode anytime and manage the 2FA devices by yourself with the connection of campus network.

You can access self-service for getting temporary passcode that helps you re-activate 2FA on other devices. The lost device can be simply removed and de-authenticated accordingly. You can also contact ICTO Help Desk for further assistance.

You need to re-activate 2FA service on the new devices. The 2FA on old device can be simply removed and de-authenticated if you do not need it anymore.

You can just repeat the same registration steps on the devices that you would like to setup 2FA. Having 2FA setup on multiple devices would be handy when a device is lost or damaged. You can verify the identity on other devices immediately.

All UM systems that use UMPASS authentication as login page will be protected by 2FA service.
